Portrait in Jazz

Added on by Craig Stewart.

In 1959, just eight months after his successful collaboration with Miles Davis on the album Kind of Blue, Evans recorded Portrait in Jazz with a new group (Bill Evans Trio) that introduced a new approach to the music of a jazz piano trio. Scott LaFaro and Paul Motian more than compliment Bill’s phrasing, harmonies and rhythms on each track. The cover shown is a Helpful Creative reinterpretation of this jazz classic.
